New irrigation design and installation

Garden Irrigation Systems in Wokingham

An irrigation system designed around the way your garden grows. Fox Gardens combines practical irrigation and horticultural knowledge, considering your planting, lawn, layout and measured water supply before recommending a new system.

Designed for real gardens

One garden can need several ways to water.

Lawns, deep borders, pots and shaded planting do not necessarily share the same watering requirements. A survey establishes what should run together, what needs a separate zone and what the available supply can support.

For new or changing gardens, David can coordinate with our in-house garden designer so planting plans and irrigation zones complement one another.

Design decisions are based on measured flow and pressure together. Pressure alone does not show how much water a supply can reliably deliver.

01

Dripline irrigation

Dripline outlet releasing water near the soil

Dripline distributes water close to the root zone. It suits many borders, hedges and planted beds and can follow irregular planting layouts.

  • Discreet installation at or near the surface
  • Suitable for established planting
  • Can run separately from lawns and pots
02

Micro irrigation

Micro sprayer watering flowering plants

Small emitters direct water to individual pots, planters, hanging baskets, greenhouse plants or other targeted areas.

  • Outlet selected for each application
  • Flexible positioning for containers
  • Adjustable as planting develops

Controllers and timers

Automatic irrigation timer connected to an outdoor tap

Options range from straightforward tap timers to multi-zone and weather-aware controls, selected to suit the size and complexity of the system.

  • Automatic programmed schedules
  • Independent zone control
  • Seasonal adjustment remains important

Multi-zone systems

Different areas, independent schedules.

Sunny and shaded borders with different watering requirements

Borders, lawns, pots and sunny or shaded areas may need different delivery methods or run times. Separating them into zones gives clearer control and keeps each zone within the capacity of the water supply.

Planning also considers valve access, practical pipe routes, controller capacity and possible future extensions.

Tank-fed and pumped systems

Stored-water options need technical assessment.

Suitability depends on storage capacity, refill rate, elevation, required flow and pressure, and the garden’s overall demand. Collected rainwater cannot automatically be assumed to meet year-round irrigation needs.

Complex pumping, borehole or fixed electrical requirements may require an appropriately qualified specialist.

Common questions

Useful answers before your survey.

Can irrigation be added to an existing garden?

Yes, in many cases. The survey identifies practical pipe routes and watering zones around established planting and landscaping.

Do I need good water pressure?

Suitability depends on measured flow and pressure together, as well as the demand of each proposed zone.

Can borders and lawns run separately?

Yes. A multi-zone controller can operate different areas independently where the design and supply allow.

How much does a system cost?

Accurate pricing normally requires a survey because layout, planting, water supply, access and installation difficulty vary between gardens.
